If I file for bankruptcy and the house is in my husband’s name. How will that effect my family?

It depends on how long the house has been I your spouse’s name – if you just transferred it over then it may be affected. If it has always been in their name then it probably won’t be affected. Simply make certain that you discuss the house and its ownership history in detail BEFORE you decide to file and you should be ok.
