Charlene

Hi
We are presently in Consumer Proposal. Since then my husband has been laid off from work. Would like to enter bankrupcty as we cannot afford the proposal amount. Is this time (17 months) and money ($12,750) applied towards our bankruptcy. Thank you for your time. Regards CFG

Unfortunately, you will not be given any credit for your time or payments. Before you decide to file for bankruptcy, you should contact the trustee handling your proposal and ask them if it is possible to offer your creditors an “amendment” to your original terms. It may make more sense to change your proposal than to file for bankruptcy. You should at least look into this as an option.
