Employment Insurance Income and personal bankruptcy
February 25th, 2010 by Questions
I was laid off from my job last year and am currently receiving EI as my only source of income. Will I be able to continue receiving the remaining EI I was entitled to if I file for bankruptcy?

The filing of a bankruptcy will not impact your receiving EI benefits in any way. You will still be eligible for your EI, you will continue to receive your EI just as if there was not bankruptcy filed.
