RRSP Protected

I have read conflecting things about RRSP`s and losing them in Bankruptcy.
I have approx $10,000 that are over 2 years old with a spousal beneficiery currently located in a local bank (gics)- would these be taken should i file for bankruptcy?

A licensed trustee said...

AS of July 7, 2008, funds held in an RRSP are exempt from seizure in bankruptcy if the funds have been on depsoit for more than 12 months. So, if you’ve had the money on deposit for more than 2 years then your RRSP will not be affected.
