Am I allowed to do buy a car so I can keep my job

I need a car to get my son to daycare and soon school and me work on time. The bus system here is just not working and I am at risk of losing my job. I have a friend who is willing to buy a car for me and me work it off on the weekends. Am I allowed to do this so I can keep my job?

I don’t see any reason why this would get you into to trouble. Just make sure you signa proper bill of purchase/sale with your friend, that there are specific terms of repayment set out (working it off on weekends is fine) and that your friend registers a lien on the car until you’ve paid for it in full.
