Our Home

Just wondering; My Husband and I would like to file for Bankruptcy, but are afraid to do so because we don`t want to lose our home, we are keeping up with the payments, taxes etc. However we are unable to make the minimum payments on the other debth owing.
My question is: In your experience have the banks in the last few months taken houses back for resale or are the banks letting people hold onto to them, if so is there one bank more so then the other willing to do this?

A licensed trustee said...

As long as you maintain your mortgage, property tax and utility payments it is unlikely anyone will force you from the house. The banks make money from your iterest payments – if/when they seize a house they almost always lose money so they are generally very reluctant to do this.
