insurance compensation

lately we got compensated through our rental policy for stolen items we used to have such as jewelery.laptop,camera a GPS…in case of bankruptcy should we surrender this amount although i read that under bankruptcy law we cn keep certain things of an assigned value.

I think you should speak to your trustee – if you are going to use the money to replace the stolen items then I don’t think your trustee will interfere. If you are going to use the money for something else then you might lose it… call you trustee so you can figure out what to do.
