Whether or not you may keep your miobile home will depend on whether or not there is any equity (net value) in the home, as well as whether or not the finance company will allow you to continue to make payments on your loan.

Unfortunaely mobile homes are treated differently than a regular home – the loan on a mobile home is not a mortgage and therefore if you file for bankruptcy the lender may decide to simply “call” the loan and seize the trailer.

As an alternative you may want to consider whether or not you can afford to repay a portion of the debt through a consumer proposal. I seem to be saying this aa lot today, but use the links to speak to a trustee in your area about your options…
