Each province has a set of exemptions that are available when someone files for bankruptcy. In Ontario you are able to claim household furniture, utensils, equipment, food and fuel that are contained in and form part of the permanent home of the debtor not exceeding $11,300 in value.

For more information on this you are best to discuss thing directly with a local trustee who practices in your area.
