Personal Interest Courses

Hi,
I was wondering if I took a couple of personal interest courses at a College – George Brown (Photoshop/Quark) about 3 years ago that I paid for myself and were not affiliated with my BA Economics ( that I was a full time student at York from 97-2000) would this affect my ability to go Bankrupt seeing that the laws have been changed to 7 years?

I was told that it should not affect me because the 2 courses have nothing to do with my BA program and I was not enrolled in a program for the two courses because they were merely personal interest course.

It is unlikely these personal interest courses will be considered when the 7 year exclsuion period is determined, but frankly no one knows for sure. The new rules will be published in a couple of weeks, but even when they are I don’t imagine your question will be addressed. The only way you’ll know for certain is to watch and see what the Courts decide in your area. If the rules and regs don’t specifically address your situation then case law will set the rules…
