What is our best option? We don’t want to lose our home.
June 9th, 2014 by Questions
My husband and I owe 30,000 in credit card debt, 6,000 in income tax, 94,000 unsecured loans. Our house is worth 260,000 and our mortgage is 204,000. Our combined income is 110,000. What is our best option. We don’t want to lose our home.

The information provided in your question is insufficient to properly review your situation. For example is your stated income net of taxes? How many dependents are being supported on that income? Do you have other assets? I would suggest meeting with a local trustee in bankruptcy. The trustee will review all of these details with you and may be able to come up with a consumer proposal or other option that will allow you to keep your house and solve the financial problems.
