Bankruptcy question
I have a question about bankruptcy.
My common law husband and I aren’t sure what is happening in our relationship due to the dept we carry. I myself owe $14000 can only I claim bankruptcy or does it have to be both of us?

You are not required to both do the same thing to deal with your debts. You can file bankruptcy – your spouse can choose to do nothing. Or your spouse could file a consumer proposal and you could try credit counselling. Or you could choose to file together. Go and speak to a trustee about your options. The trustee can help you decide which solution makes the most sense for each of you.
