I purchased a brand new home in 2011. In March of 2013 we discovered that our home was not attached to the town sewer and the piping was never glued. Insurance has denied me because of contractor failure. Everywhere I try to get answers and help I get nowhere. I have approx. 1/2 million in debt including house, truck, cred cards, loc and a loan. My house is unlivable, my family is falling apart because of this. I never wanted to go bankrupt but its looking like I will have no choice. My income is 8000 take home/month but Im going backwards further and further the longer I try to hold this together. How much a month will this cost and for how long will it last for?

With $8,000 of net income per month we would have to follow the Superintendent of Bankruptcy’s surplus income calculation

What happens with this calculation is that it is based on your net income but also the number of people in your household. Once we know both of these pieces of information we can answer both of those questions very easily.
