Bankruptcy should be the last thing you consider – after you’ve looked at the following alternatives:

1) work out a repayment plan yourself, paying the highest interest debt first

2) apply for a consolidation loan or line of credit to pay down your debt and reduce your interest costs

3) contact a credit counsellor to look into a debt managemetn program

4) consider a consumer proposal
