RRSP

I am considering bankruptcy. We are going thru a divorce and under the court order my spouse will transfer half of her RRSP money directly to my RRSP account. How will this affect this if I decide to file for bankruptcy? Will I lose this to my creditors?

It is definitely an item you should make your trustee aware of in advance, but as long as the money is being transferred from one RSP account to another RSP account and at no time are de-registered, then you shouldn’t have any problems.
