bankruptcy fees
September 11th, 2012 by Questions
what do you do if you can’t afford the bankruptcy fees from the trustee? I made only 14,000$ last year. 1,800$ as a fee to even start the process of declaring bankruptcy would be impossible for me. Is there any other options?

With income as low as you indicated you may not need to do anything. We refer to this position as creditor proof and the reason you may not need to do anything is that you don’t make enough money for the creditors to be able to garnish wages or seize any assets. So I would recommend that when your creditors call to simply explain your income situation and while they will continue to call you, there really isn’t anything else they can do.
