I understand that trustee fills and files my return, pre and post to bankruptcy. Don’t I need to sign this return before it is filled? Since someone else is doing it for me. They told me they don’t even usually give a copy to the client.

Your signature is not required – your trustee has the right to sign the return themselves. You should receive copies of any tax returns your trustee files – if you don’t then I would call and ask for them.
