Garnish
April 11th, 2012 by Questions
I’m in the military. Income of 57 000 had a garnish issue ordered for 23 000 today. That was started on Jan 19 this year. i had no idea that this was coming…… they are set to garnish my wage expect for 15 %. This was resulting from a car accident in 2006. I’m already paying 300 a month to Alberta Justice.
This new claim is for property damages. I don’t have the assets or funds…….
Can I claim bankrupacny for this to go away ?

Whether this debt will be cleared by a bankruptcy or a consumer proposal will really depend on the specifics of the actions themselves. In most cases these types of debts are cleared, but it is important to contact a local trustee so that these actions can be reviewed in more detail to ensure they can be dealt with in this fashion.
