fraudulent bankruptcy

ive been added as a creditor in a bankcruptcy and know that the the person has lied on bankruptcy paperwork as to his financial situation as well as his living situation – how do i report this and what are the repercutions?

A licensed trustee said...

Either contact the trustee handling the bankruptcy directly or contact the nearest Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy. Make sure you put your concerns in writing and stick to the “facts”. If you simply call and say “John is lying about his income” no one will listen – you need to tell them why you think he is lying – ie he has 3 jobs and only told his trustee about 1 of them…
