We declared bankruptcy 2 months ago.We have both received letters to see the official receiver at the end of this month.I read that this is rare in first bankruptcies.Everything has been done properly the way it’s supposed to be.Why would they want to see us and what questions do they ask?

It is quite unusual for the Official Receiver to want to examine under oath a first time bankrupt. It usually only happens if there is something “unusual” about your situation, or the Official Receiver might be checking up on your trustee. Without a detailed review of your situation I can’t even guess why you’ve been asked – try calling your trustee and asking them. They shoudl be able to tell if there is something unusual about your file that might warrant government review.
