When you file for bankruptcy you are required to report the household income “from all sources” to your trustee and your payment may be adjusted up or down depending on what you report. EI and maternity benefits must be reported along with everything else.
When you file a consumer proposal your income is declared at the outset, but there is no further reporting requirement. If you are on EI – maternity benefits when you file then they will be reported. If you go on EI sometime after you file then you are not required to report the change.
