Student loan debt
June 21st, 2011 by Questions
I am wanting to declare bankruptcy to clear out my student loan debts. The last student loan I received was 8 years ago and I graduated 8 years ago from college. My question is I recently enrolled I a two month online course and I paid the tuition myself. This course does not count towards any diploma. Can I still declare bankruptcy and clear my student loan debt

Depending on the nature of the class you are taking it may have re-set the 7 year clock. But it is difficult to say without more details about the type of class you are taking. What I would recommend is that you review the details of this particular course with a local trustee and they will be in a better position to advise you about specifically what you can expect.
