Are you allowed to start a savings account after filing bankruptcy?

Absolutely. Not only is it allowed, but it is strongly recommended. The only caveat is that you first must be meeting all the payment obligations associated with the bankruptcy itself, but once that has been done if you have done a good enough job with your budgeting and controling of spending to be able to set a little money aside it is something that we highly encourage.
