Can I claim Bankcruptcy when unemployed?

There is no requirement for you to be employed. You are able to file for bankruptcy irrespective of your employment status. Although, depending on your current income you may not have a need to file for bankruptcy immediately as your income may be low enough that your creditors are not able to take action against (i.e. garnish or seize) for the time being. So you may choose to hold of filling immediately in case you find work quicker than expected.
