Is bankruptcy the way to go?

April 6th, 2010 by Questions

My husband and I are 3 months behind on our car payment and credit card debt, we have 2 school age children. Both of our monthly income got cut in half, and since then it has been downhill, now it is impossible to make the payments and buy groceries. The credit cards and Vehicle are both in his name. Is Bankruptcy the right way to go? The companies won`t budge on the payments even though up until 6 months ago we never had a late payment.

A bankruptcy is one option available, but without looking at things in more detail it is difficult to know if it is the right option given your situation.

What you need to do is to contact a local trustee, they will sit down with you on a no cost, no obligation basis and review the details of your situation in an effort to help determine what the best course of action is.
