If I lost my job and got 8 weeks severance prior to going to see a trustee. Do I have to disclose this amount to the trustee.

Yes, if you received severance you definately need to disclose this to your trustee. Full disclosure is absolutely essential to the process, and failure to do so can have very significant consequences.
