too much debt

October 22nd, 2009 by Questions

my husband and i have a mortgage in both our names. We also have a lot of debt. total of about $675,000. He is the only one working and we cannot make the payments. I want to file bankruptcy and start again. He doesn`t want to and says if there is a way I can file myself without him losing the house or ruining his credit rating go ahead. Is there a way out for me. I live in a remote area where there are very few jobs and do not own a vehicle so I am trying to find a job online. Is there any hope for me?

While it is likely you will be able to file a bankruptcy on your own it is difficult to determine whether or not there will be an impact on your house.

To determine this you really are going to have to contact a local trustee directly as they will need more information to be able to advise you properly.
