Mortgage, Debt, and moving abroad

I am self employed and used to work in an Industry that has dissolved. I have not made any money over the past year. My mortgage is more than I can sell the house for, My unsecured debt is around 100,000. I have zero income and can no longer afford to pay the mortgage or the interest on the unsecured debts. I have been offered a job in another country and want to wipe the slate clean so to speak. I want to cut all ties here and claim bankruptcy but can I leave the country during the discharge period?

There is no restriction on your ability to relocate either during a bankruptcy or after you have been discharged.

So you are best to contact a local trustee right away, explain that you will likely be moving abroad and they will help you make the necessary arrangements.
