I have done bankruptcy before several years ago, and now again my only option.

My question, I do lose my car when I go into bankruptcy. Is there anyway around that. As my ability to stand or walk a long distance, I have to have the car. What other options do I have.

Whether or not you’ll lose your car depends on it’s value, whether or not it is financed and whether or not the payments are up to date.

Effective Sep 18, 2009, finance companies and banks can no longer repo your car simply because you filed for bankruptcy. If the payments are up to date then you have the right to keep the car (as long as you keep making the payments…).
