It will be up to the mortgage company to make that decision. If you can’t carry your mortgage based on your own income then they might re-assess your eligibility when your mortgage comes up for renewal. All I can suggest is that you speak to your mortgage company before your co-signer files. That way they will hear it from you and they will have a higher level of confidence that you can deal with it.
