Deferred Payment Plan items

June 24th, 2009 by Questions

Around 4 or 5 months ago we purchased a mattress on a deferred payment plan, as well, about 8 or 9 months ago we bought appliances. I don`t believe that we have made any real payments towards it, but… we have no other mattress to sleep on, and we may need to keep our washer/dryer wherever we move to next.
Are we able to keep these items as we feel these are necessary items.
Thanks

The problem is that you have purchased items that you have not paid for. The only way for you to keep these items if you file a bankruptcy is if you pay into the trustee the purchase price of these items. Otherwise the items would have to be sold by the trustee and distributed out to your creditors.
