Worried
I was supposed to be discharged this week; 2 weeks ago one of my creditors has opposed the discharge. They want 6 more payments for a total of 15 months. If I agree to their terms, could they still oppose my discharge at the 14th month & want more payments?
Also, if I dont agree to their terms & go to a hearing, what are my chances? Would the court listen to my full story & possibly grant me discharge or lower the months to 3months more of payment?
Thank you!

Unfortunately, your creditors have the right to oppose your discharge and ask for additional payments. It very rarely happens, but it does happen (obviously since it has happened to you).
If you agree to the payments then you will not be required to appear in Court. A simple letter signed by you for the Coyrt should suffice. If you don’t agree then a hearing will be scheduled and the Court will decide what you will be required to pay.
Once the Court issues the Order then the amount is set – your creditors cannot re-apply to the Court and ask for more.
Without knowijg a great deal more about your situation I can’t predict the outcome of your hearing (if you decide to have one). Generally speaking the Court tends to “side with the creditors” when additional payments are requested simply because it doesn’t happen very often…
