truck driver

My truck is broke down requiring $7000.00 in repairs. While the bank delayed in denying my request for additional funding, I am out of work, and bills are piling up. I looked for a company job, but drivers are being laid off, not being hired. Where I work now only has owner/operators. If I file for bankruptcy, can I lease or buy another truck in order to keep my job?

If you file for bankruptcy you are permitted to lease or buy another truck. The only real stipulation is that you have to disclose the fact that you are in bankruptcy. Now this will definately make it somewhat harder to obtain financing, but realistically speaking I think the biggest problem will be lack of income. If you don’t have any income coming in, given the banking climate that exists currently I think that finding someone to lend regardless of the bankruptcy sould be challenging.
