The timing isn’t essential. When a bankruptcy is filed there is automatically a Stay of Proceedings that is effective. This Stay of Proceedings is court protection that forces your unsecured creditors to forgo their collection rights. As a result if a judgement is in place it will be null and void, if a creditors is in the process of getting a judgement they will loose the right to continue that process.
