Although bankruptcy is not a bar to Canadian immigration, it may be taken into account by an immigration official whose task is to determine if you are likely to successfully establish yourself in Canada. The circumstances of the bankruptcy would be relevant.
As for traveling in and out of the country, a bankruptcy wouldn’t have any impact. So you will still be able to travel.
The presence of independent children may impact things slightly, but that is something you will have to discuss directly with a local trustee.
