Advice?

Hi ,I owe roughly 20,000 dollars in debt that I am very behind on.Ive had a number od employment and personal setbacks that have put me into a very difficult position.I visited credit counselling services in sept and was advised that my best option would be bankruptcy,as with my income I would not easily afford the consolidated payment that they could set up for me.I have student loan debt and thay advised me to wait until the end of April to file as my end of study date was April 2002 and that by waiting my student loan debt would be included.(Seven Years). But I am really behind,I am barely able to keep the rent /utilities and Heat going. My bank closed my account last month due to the faxt that I had had NSFs for a loan payment.I dont know what to do

I havnt felt this low before.Im afraid that I will have my wages garnished and that my coworkers will find out about my situation.I have a personal(unsecured)loan from HSBC that I am about three months behind on,plus credit card debt and others and I just dont know how to dig out from this. Will I have to go to court?WIll I be able to file for Bankruptcy?Iam afraid to answer the phone …it goes constantly with collection calls! I dont know how to handle these calls ..I dont have the resources to settle my debt. Can you please give me some advise regarding what to do?Will I have to go to court? Can I actually file for Bankruptcy?

As you questions are far to involved for this type of forum what you really need to do is to contact a local trustee, schedule an initial assessment and run through not only your options but how the different options will impact your situation. I think you will find that as the trustee discusses these things all the questions you have identified above will be addressed.
