need advice

I have been out at school for 8 years and have student loan debt, student loans stopped giving me student loans in 2001 and for the rest of my schooling I got a private loan. Since student loans stopped giving me loans in 2001 would this be my end of study date with them.

Your end of study date has nothing to do with when you received student loans. Your end of study date is the last day on which you were registered as a student.

If more than 7 years have passed since your end of study date then your student loans should be dischargeable in a bankruptcy. Call a trustee in your area and ask them how this works.
