Mat Leave & EI

Will my payments change to reflect that I`m on EI while on maternity leave? Or will I be required to make payments at all while on mat leave? Will my repayment term be extended to account for this low income time? If so, could it be extended beyond 21 months?

If you have filed for bankruptcy your monthly payments are likely made up of at least two components: the cost of filing and surplus income, if any. As your income changes your surplus income payment also changes – the more you earn the higher your payment. The basic cost of filing does not change and so that part of your payment will stay the same.
