Suspended

I`ve heard bankruptcy laws in Canada have recently toughened up. Does this mean that more people are having their bankruptcies suspended now instead of being discharged, especially if there are circumstances like gambling involved?

If you scan down a dozen or so postings there is a detailed posting of what the Court is now asking people that have gambling issues…

Suspended discharges are only given to people that have had previous filings. People with gambling issues are given Conditional discharges – the conditions imposed by the Court vary on a case by case basis.
