Son and surplus

I am a single father of two children on the verge of bankruptcy. My son works during summer and uses that money for tuition and books. Will that income be included in the calculation of my surplus income ? He also has his student loan approved. Will that be considered in the calculation of surplus income ?

If your son lives in the household and is being used as a dependent, then his income needs to be reflected in that calculation. I would limit this to his income, not the amount of his loan, but you will need to discuss that with your local trustee to see what takes place in your area.
