Discharge period
October 23rd, 2008 by Questions
I thought I would ask and get your opionion on this. Ir/when I file for bankuptcy (1st time) I have been told that I will most likely have to wait 9 months before I get discharged, assuming I do everything that is asked of me ( meetings, exp report submission ).
My question is, based on your personal experiences, if say 5-7 months have passed by, and I have not heard of any creditors objecting, is there a GOOD chance that I will be discharged after 9 months.
Yes, I know that a creditor can object on the very last day before discharge takes place, but based on your experience, is there more likely that I will be discharged if no one objects during the first 5-7 months ?
Thank-you

The answer to your question is more dependent on the circumstance of your situation. As long as there isn’t anything unusual very rarely does a creditor oppose. You would be much better off to direct this question to your trustee as they will be familiar with the details of your case and have a much better idea if there is risk of an opposition.
