Can creditors still ask you to pay your debt even after you filed for bankruptcy?

If it is a personal bankruptcy and it is a personal debt, then in most cases they should be dealing with your trustee. So when they call I would recommend you give them the name and number of your trustee’s office and inform them that you are not to discuss this with them further. Now the major exception is if it is a secured creditor and you want to retain the property linked to that loan, then you should make arrangments for the payments to continue.
