Opening BANK acct

You mentioned that IF I file for personal bankruptcy, I should open a bank acct with a bank that I have had NO business with or credit cards with.

This makes sense, HOWEVER, I also owe money to Rev Canada. How is this going to help me. If I file for bankruptcy, will Rev Can freeze up all my bank accts, both OLD and NEW accts ?

I live in Ontario

Thanks

Once you file either bankrutcy or a consumer proposal the government (and any of your other creditprs for that matter) no longer have the right to freeze your bank account.

we tell people to switch banks so that the bank doesn’t have access to their account before/after they file – it’s not legal for them to do so, but that’s not much help if you go to buy groceries and they’ve taken all of your money…
