Insurance

Is a debt with the insurance company in NS, exempt from Bankurptcy? The amount I owe could be as high as 500,000.00 and I am not in a position to repay this.

This really depends on the nature of the debt, not who it is owed to.

The most common types of debt that aren’t cleared by bankruptcy are if the debt is a result of fraud, court files or penalties misappropriation, misrepresentation, alimony, maintenance or things along.

The best thing to do is meet with a local trustee, explain the circumstances surrounding this claim and the trustee will be able to explain how this claim will be treated and what you can expect the overall effect of it to be.
