If a person is claiming personal bankruptcy can they included a garnishment of wages that is being paid for back taxes to the government

Yes, taxes are a debt a person can be cleared from in a bankruptcy and the Stay of Proceedings will stop that garnishment. The trick is to act quickly so that the crown doesn’t impose any more significant sanctions as some of their other avenues (i.e. statutory lien’s) can survive a bankrutpcy, so you are better to get contact a local trustee and get things started before CRA gets more aggressive.
