Opposing Discharge

What happens when creditors oppose a bankruptcy discharge due to, for example, credit card advances at casinos? Will a court hearing then be scheduled and does the bankrupt person have to attend to talk about his gambling?

You are correct that a court hearing must be scheduled, but what happens at that court hearing really depends on the practice of th local courts. I have heard of courts addressing the bankrupt, I have heard of courts simply discussing things directly with the trutee and I have heard of a combination of both.

To get a better idea of what your local court does you are best to discuss this with a local trustee.
