Impact of Bankruptcy on SO\’s Credit
August 2nd, 2007 by Questions
My significant other declared bankruptcy in 2006 and was discharged in January 2007. We are now living common-law. What impact does his bankruptcy have on my good credit rating? If we decide to purchase a house together is there anything I should know before approaching a bank for mortgage?

Your spouses credit will not have any direct impact on yours. However, if you are applying for credit jointly you may find that as a result of his poor credit it may be more difficult to qualify for things like a mortgage.
The best thing your husband can do is to follow the advice found a the following link:credit repair. IF this advise is followed he will be able to more quickly recover from the earlier difficulties.
