Income Surplus Payments

I have filed a bankruptcy and have been making income surplus payments since last November. I am told that I will be making these payments for at least another 12 months. I am a seasonal worker and might not have the job that I have for another 12 months.

What happens if I am unable to make the surplus payments? If I stop making these payments, does my discharge gets put on hold until I make these payments?

Thanks .

John

In order for you to be eligible for discharge you must keep up to date with these surplus payments. Failure to do so will result in an opposition to this discharge and likely an extension of your bankruptcy.

If you should run into a month where you simply can’t afford to pay the full amount required, pay what you can and contact your trustee to explain why the temporary measures have been taken.
