Co-owned house bankruptcy

I am co-owner of a house with my ex boyfriend. We have been separated for over 3 years. I am considering bankruptcy and I wonder how this would affect him since both of our names are on the house. I currently live in the house. The morgage payments are made by my ex as child support payments. If I declare bankruptcy, would it remove my name on ownership of the house?

Real estate is very sensitive issue and one that cannot be discussed without knowing a) the current market value of the property, b) the outstanding balance of the mortgage, and c) what area of the country you reside.

The answers to all of these questions can have a significant impact on what happens to property, as a result you are best to follow this link to find a local trustee. Once you provide the above information they will be in a much better position to provide you with all the information you will need.
