Bankruptcy and Court Fees
I am in arrears with credit card payments. A collection agenecy has been assigned to collect the payments. They have gone to court to try and garnish my wages. At the same time I am currently considering filing for bankruptcy.
I have been informed that any court fees resulting from the collection agencies actions in court are my responsiblility to pay and they will not be discharged after I file for bankruptcy. Is this true or false and what are the obligations of court fees (not fines) after bankruptcy?

This is not correct. There are very few categories of debts that survive bankruptcy and the costs to collect a debt are not one of them as long as you haven’t put the creditors to unreasonable expenses in this process (i.e. brought a frivolous action or defense against the creditors to try and delay / thwart payments).
The best thing to do is to contact a licensed trustee directly and get the process started, the sooner you do this the less likely any of your creditors can cause you any additional difficulties.
